U.S. Launches Investigation Into BP Oil Spill

Problems Continue for this Oil Giant

Problems continue for BP, as the U.S. launches an investigation into the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. If you haven't watched the news for the past couple of weeks, then you won't know whats happened with the oil spill. The most recent news comes when the "Top Kill method" failed to stop the oil leak. This oil spill is a huge problem and until it's stopped it will only get worse. This oil spill is the worst in American history, hopefully it won't be the worst by a lot.

Long before today's news of the U.S. launching an investigation into the BP oil spill, many people expected this news to come. It's the practical thing to do. This is the largest oil spill, and eleven men died while on the rig. This isn't an easy problem to fix, in fact, this problem could stretch over many more months to come. I think BP could have this problem solved much sooner, but they're trying to buy time to clean up their crime.

Coney Island Opens Up Luna Park

Famous Amusement Park Re-Built For Memorial Day Weekend

Coney Island announced that they've opened up a new amusement park. But you'll only be able to go this memorial day weekend. The Park is called Luna Park. The park was orginally built in 1903, but due to a fire it was shut down. Apparently Coney Island's fixed Luna Park up real good, with new rides and new video games. Luna Park's gotten the attention of kids across New York, in fact its a trending topic on twitter. I expect to hear the park doing big numbers this weekend. Plus, its free.

I've already heard kids talking about taking a trip over to Luna Park even today. But the majority of people will most likely go Sunday and Monday. I for one don't plan on going to the park, but I'll consider taking a trip just to say I went. But I'm certainly not going on any rides, I'll be in the arcade for the whole time. But I think everybody should go check out the amusement park, since its only going to be available for the memorial day weekend.

Republicans Should Stop Delaying Reform

I’m frustrated with the Republican leadership. They keep trying to stop any and every thing that President Obama tries to improve. Republican leadership continues to delay bill after bill. They should start helping Americans and stop delaying reform.

Health care is a perfect example of Republican leadership delaying reform. They are getting in the way! There are even some Republicans admitting that they’re going to delay reform up until November. Why? Reason being, they don't want the health care industry to change, since there making money. Plus, as long as they stall, the more Republicans they can try to recruit through elections. Thanks to the super-majority rule Republicans could do that. But Majority should win! Thus, this is why health care reform may take a while. Thanks to Republicans delaying reform.

Historic Health Care Bill Passes

I stayed up this morning to watch the Senate vote on the historic health care bill. The bill was voted on at 7:30 in the morning on Christmas Eve! That's unheard of. However, the bill needed to be voted on. This health bill is historic for two reasons, there has been no health reform for sixty years and this is the first attempt at reform for sixty years. Now that this bill has been passed, I think only good will come out of this.

This was a great experience, watching the Senate vote on a historic bill. It felt good to watch history in the making. Its the first attempt at health care reform for sixty years. Since this bill has been passed, I believe more reforms are yet to come as a result of this health care reform.
