Brooklyn Nets Draft Williams

Technically, the New Jersey Nets aren't called the "Brooklyn Nets" because they haven't moved yet. However, the New Jersey Nets drafted Terrence Williams, a small forward out of Louisville. Now that Williams was drafted the move will be even better.

Williams was an excellent pick, especially since it was the only pick the Nets had in the draft. I think Williams has the potential to be as good as Carmelo Anthony or even better. Williams is a strong small forward and already has NBA size at 6'6 220 lbs. I think Terrence Williams will be very good in the NBA and most likely won't be a bust like past Nets draft picks. With this year's draft pick, I'm even more hype to watch the Nets play. Next year looks good for the Nets.

Lakers Take Home Another Championship

They've done it. The Los Angeles Lakers have won another championship. The Lakers defeated the Orlando Magic in 5 games. This was a very good series, however, the series score may not show it.

The Magic had numerous chances to beat the Lakers, in fact the series could've been 3-1 Magic. However, certain events took place that didn't allow the Magic to win. The Magic could've beat the Lakers in their 3 game set at home, that would've been the best time to win. If the Magic won Game 2, I'm sure the series would've been totally different, meaning the Magic may have been able to win the series.

During this playoffs I was let down twice. The first time came when the Cleveland Cavaliers loss to the Orlando Magic in 6 games. I really thought that the Cavaliers would win, and I couldn't have been the only one. If you put MVP and playoffs in the same sentence, usually the MVP comes out on top. However, this was not the case for LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. When I was able to cope with a Cavalier loss I wanted the Magic to defeat the Lakers in the finals. Mainly because I don't like the Lakers or Kobe, and because the Magic were now representing the East Coast. Therein lies my second let down, when the Orlando Magic were defeated in five games by the Lakers. Especially since Orlando had so many chances to win, and had a very good chance of winning the series, after the first game blow out. Next year maybe better and less frustrating, however, I don't know if I'll be rooting for the Cavaliers, if they make it. The Cavs may have lost a fan because of LeBron's unsportmanship.

Go Back to Queens, But Take This

What an embarassing game for the Mets today. The Mets loss 15-0. That doesn't even seem like a baseball score. Nonetheless, the Mets managed to lose 15-0. The Yankee rally began in the 2nd and continued in the 4th, by the 8th the Yankees gathered all the runs they needed for a blow out win.

In the 2nd inning Cano lead off the inning with a double, then Swisher hit a sac fly moving Cano over to third. Next, Matsui was walked and Cabera struck out after. Then Francisco Cervelli hit a single to bring in Cano, while moving Matsui over to second. Next Yankees Captain, Derek Jeter singled, bringing Matsui in for another run. However, Jeter and Cervelli were able to advance to second and third. Then Johhny Damon brought Jeter and Cervelli in for the fourth and final run of the inning.

In the fourth, the game blew way out of proportion. The Yankees scored 9 runs! Swisher led off the inning with a walk. Followed by a two-run home-run from Hideki Matsui. Then Melky Cabera doubled, followed by an infield single by Cervelli sending Cabera to third. Afterwards, Jeter got an infield single, bringing in Cabera. Manuel saw enough and took out Johan Santana. But that didn't change anything because Damon doubled, which brought in Cervelli. Then Teixeira got an infield single. But A-Rod came up and grounded into a double play, while bringing in Jeter. Then Robinson Cano came up and hit a two-run home-run. This allowed the Yankees to bat around, and once again Swisher walked. Followed by a walk to Matsui, and a Melky Cabera double that brought in Swisher and Matsui. However, Cabera was thrown out advancing. At the end of the fourth, the score was 13-0 Yankees.

In the 7th Angel Berroa was hit with a pitch after Cervelli flied out. Then Damon walked, followed by another walk to Brett Gardner. Then Ramiro Pena hit an infield single that allowed Berroa to score. Afterwards Cano hit a sacrifice fly that allowed Damon to score. Finally, the Yankee scoring had come to an end.

Pettitte Causes A Yankee Loss

Today the Yankees loss to the Mets in the second game of the subway series. The Mets beat the Yankees 6-2. However, 5 of their 6 runs came off starting pitcher Andy Pettitte. The only good thing about that is, Pettitte didn't give up his normal 6 runs. Ever since the 2nd inning, the game went down hill for the Yankees. In that inning Pettitte gave up a two-run home-run to catcher, Omir Santos. In the 5th, Pettitte continued to give up runs. Carlos Beltran led off the inning with a single, then David Wright doubled. Afterwards, Gary Sheffield singled and Fernando Tatis grounded into a fielder's choice. Then Ryan Church struck out, however, Omir Santos hit a double, which allowed Tatis to score. By the end of the inning the score was 5-1 Mets. By the 6th inning Girardi had seen enough, as Pettitte was taken out for Alfredo Aceves. In the 7th Sheffield homered, and the bleeding stopped after that. However, the damage was done and the Yanks loss.

Yanks Win Off Castillo Error

Last night the Yankees won the first game in the subway series. The Yankees defeated the Mets 9-8. However, in the 9th inning the Yankees were losing 8-7. Derek Jeter hit a single and stole second. Then Mark Teixeira was walked. Afterwards, A-Rod came up to face K-Rod. Then on a 3-1 count A-Rod hit a routine pop-up to second basemen, Luis Castillo. The unbelievable happened, Castillo dropped the ball! Which led to the Yankee's first win in the subway series.

Nick Montana Commits To Washington

Another Montana is heading to college. Only this time, it's Nick Montana, son of Hall-Of-Fame Quarterback, Joe Montana. Nick has given a verbal commitment to the Washington Huskies. This after many different schools expressed interest in Nick. These schools include: Ohio State, LSU, Alabama, Georgia and Notre Dame. Montana is considered one of the top prep quarterbacks for the class of 2010. He's also rated as the No.13 QB in the country by Scout.com. I wonder if this was the right decision for Nick, and how this whole situation will turn out. If you think about he's going to a school were he will probably start and if he went to a bigger school, he may get starting time in his Sophomore or Junior year. So maybe Washington is the best place for Nick.

Lakers Win in Four, What?

Who thinks that the Lakers will defeat the Orlando Magic in four games? If you think about it will that really happen? The Magic are a good team and wouldn't allow themselves to be swept. Also, let me breakdown scheduling and the last game. The last game in Los Angeles was very good and more competitive than the first game. However, the Magic had a chance to win at the end. There was about .6 seconds left on the clock and Hedo Turkoglu inbounded the ball, on a lob, to Courtney Lee, but he missed the lay-up as time expired. So you know what, the series would've been tied had Courtney Lee made his lay-up as time expired. Keeping that in mind, lets go to the next two games.

The next two games in the NBA finals will be at Amway Arena, in Orlando, Florida. Now if Orlando can use home-court advantage like Los Angeles did, Orlando should tie the series up at two games. Thereby, creating a very good finals, that will be going back to Los Angeles.

Now lets take it back to game 2 when the Orlando Magic almost won, at Los Angeles. Can they do that again? Consider this, if Orlando can win at Los Angeles, instead of almost winning, who will be in control of the series then? That's right, Orlando will have control of the series with a 3-2 lead. But the only problem for Los Angeles, if this happened, is the series would be heading back to Orlando. Once again, home-court advantage comes into play, but who would win? Now keep in mind all of these situations are hypothetical, but they're proof against the Lakers defeating the Magic in four games.

$50+ Million To Strasburg, Who's Never Thrown A Major League Pitch?

I read an article about San Diego State ace, Stephen Strasburg. He's the top prospect in the U.S. and he's expected to be drafted first in tomorrow's MLB draft. However, he hasn't "officially" negotiated a contract with the Washington Nationals. The Nationals are the team that holds the first pick in the MLB draft. Strasburg's adviser, Scott Boras, is trying to make a case for $50+ million for Strasburg. Now I understand that Strasburg is a great pitcher, and he has heat up to 103 mph, but how can a rookie, out of college get that much money at such a young age? Even Mark Teixeira and last year's ace, David Price signed contracts in the $10 millions. Now how much of an impact have they had so far?

Boras is trying to make this case because he believes if Daisuke Matsuzaka, Red Sox pitcher, received $52 million, Strasburg shouldn't receive anything less. But hear this case, he thinks that a 21 year old ace shouldn't receive anything less than $52 million, because he has a better arm at a younger age. I can understand this argument by Scott Boras, but well it fly? I expect Strasburg to come out of contract negotiations with $25 million, or more.

Yanks Defeat Rays After Late Inning Heroics

The Yankees have won their 20th game, in which they came back. Their victim today was the Tampa Bay Rays. The Yankees defeated the Rays 4-3, after a 3-run 8th inning. The rally in the 8th started out with a fly out by Jeter, followed by a Johnny Damon single. Afterwards, Yanks RBI machine, Mark Teixeira got a single, followed by an A-Rod walk, which loaded the bases. Then the Rays manager used some common sense and took out pitcher, Grant Balfour, for lefty J.P. Howell. The first batter Howell faced was walked which allowed a run to come in for the Yankees. Then Jorge Posada came up an hit a hot shot to Rays third-basemen, Willy Aybar, and Posada was able to reach on an error by Aybar. This error by Aybar allowed Mark Teixeira to score and make the score 3-3. Then Matsui came up and was able to hustle out a fielder's choice, which allowed A-Rod to score and give the Yankees a one run lead. Then Swisher was walked, but the rally came to an end after Melky Cabera struck out. In the 9th, Mariano Rivera was able to close out the game and give the Yankees the win.

Microsoft's XBOX Is Moving Up

Today it was reported that Microsoft would be taking its XBOX to a whole nother level. Microsoft is going to offer: Web-streamed music, updates on Facebook or Twitter, and last but not least, A motion detecting and voice-recognizing camera that can "see" a player's arm and hand motions. Everything just mentioned is crazy and the technology has to be new, except for the motion detector. But I wonder how, on a gaming system, a person can update their Facebook or Twitter, that's amazing! This new technology from Microsoft for their XBOX 360 will be game changing, and I look for a boost in XBOX 360 sells. But the only question is, will all of this new technology be free?
